Square Library Refresh

Before 2022, Square had never had a consistent photography refresh; the performance marketing side favored videos. For paid social media, I suggested updating the Square photo library, as at the time we only received photography from campaigns with differing art direction. We needed to be accessible, while still standing out from conventional stock photography. We wanted to capture candid moments of business owners that felt dynamic and gave a sense of motion, as well as showcased our hardware. I personally art directed photography for two quarters in 2022 (Q1 and Q2), kicking off a new process in Square for photography that is still used today for performance marketing in Square.
